2 Data processed by Aire

2.1 Account data

If you create an account, Aire processes your email address, Firebase user ID, account creation and sign-in information, and authentication status. Authentication is provided by Google Firebase Authentication. AIRE AG does not receive your password in plain text.

2.2 Optional profile data

You may provide your first name, last name and email address in your profile. Profile information is stored locally unless you enable profile synchronization.

2.3 Apple Health data

If you grant Apple Health permission, Aire may read the following data available in HealthKit: age derived from date of birth, biological sex, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, VO2 max, sleep information, mindful minutes, workout count and workout duration.

Aire uses this information on your device to show health context, assess trends and personalize recommendations. The specific HealthKit values remain on your device and are not uploaded to AIRE AG, Firebase or other third parties. They are not used for advertising or analytics. Aire does not write data to HealthKit. You can change Health permissions in the iOS Settings or Health app at any time.

2.4 App activity, wellbeing input and feedback

Aire stores information about completed or abandoned sessions, including the selected protocol, target, start and completion times, planned and actual duration, whether the session was completed on iPhone or Apple Watch, favorites, mood ratings, selected effects and optional feedback notes. This information is used to provide progress history and improve personal recommendations.

You may also record daily wellbeing check-ins, including energy, stress, muscle status, sleep quality, training effort and mood, and plan daily events, including their type, timing, duration, outcome, reminder timing and an optional note. Check-ins, feedback and notes may reveal health-related or other sensitive information depending on what you enter. Do not include information about another person unless you are authorized to do so.

This information is stored locally by default. Secure AIRE Cloud Sync is voluntary and disabled by default. If you expressly select Agree & Enable, Aire uploads your profile, session history, feedback, daily wellbeing check-ins, planned events and optional notes to your personal Firebase account for personal backup, cross-device synchronization and personalized recommendations. Specific Apple Health or HealthKit measurements are never uploaded and remain on your device. The app remains usable without Cloud Sync.

2.5 Analytics

If you consent to analytics, Aire uses Google Analytics for Firebase to collect limited app interaction and technical usage information. This may include an app instance identifier, approximate location derived by Google Analytics, device, operating-system and app information, viewed or selected protocol metadata, recommendation interactions, session durations, favorites, aggregate synchronization results, notification interactions, Apple Watch usage and fixed technical error codes.

Aire does not send session identifiers, mood ratings, selected effects, target values, recommendation reasons, free-text error messages, your name, email address, free-text feedback or HealthKit values to Firebase Analytics. Analytics is not used for advertising or ad personalization. Analytics remains disabled unless you consent, and you may withdraw consent in the app settings at any time.

2.6 Notifications

If you allow push notifications, Aire processes a device installation identifier, Firebase Cloud Messaging token, platform, notification status and associated Firebase user ID to deliver notifications. Notification permission is optional and can be changed in iOS Settings.

2.7 Purchases

Aire is purchased through the Apple App Store as a one-time purchase. Apple processes the purchase and payment information under its own terms and privacy policy. AIRE AG does not receive your payment card details.

2.8 Support communications

If you contact AIRE AG by email, we process your email address, message and any information you choose to provide in order to respond to your request.

3 Purposes and legal bases

  • Providing the app, account, local history, personalization and data export: performance of the user agreement.

  • Secure AIRE Cloud Sync for profile, sessions, feedback, daily wellbeing check-ins, planned events and optional notes: your consent and, for health-related or otherwise sensitive information, your explicit consent. This includes explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation where check-ins, notes or other input may reveal health data or other special categories of personal data.

  • Processing HealthKit data: your explicit permission and consent. HealthKit access is optional.

  • Analytics: your consent. Analytics is optional and does not affect paid app functionality.

  • Push notifications: your permission and consent. Notifications are optional.

  • Security, fraud prevention and service integrity: our legitimate interests and compliance with legal obligations.

  • Support: responding to your request and, where applicable, performing the user agreement or pursuing legitimate interests in customer support.

4 Service providers and processing locations

Aire uses Apple services for App Store distribution, HealthKit, Apple Watch connectivity and notification delivery. Your use of these Apple services is also governed by Apple's privacy information and device settings.

Aire uses Google Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Cloud Messaging. Google generally processes Firebase customer data as a processor on behalf of AIRE AG. Cloud Firestore is configured in europe-west6 in Zurich, Switzerland. Firebase Authentication is operated from United States data centers. Analytics, Cloud Messaging and related service data may be processed on global Google infrastructure.

Where personal data is transferred outside Switzerland or the European Economic Area, AIRE AG relies on applicable transfer mechanisms, including the European Commission's standard contractual clauses under Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914 (Module 2, controller to processor) and, where required under Swiss law, the standard contractual clauses recognized by the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner. Google's Data Processing and Security Terms apply to Firebase services.

AIRE AG does not sell personal data, use it for third-party advertising, or provide individual user data to coaches, clubs, employers or other organizations through this version of the app.

5 Automated recommendations

Aire automatically analyzes available session history, user input and, if permitted, HealthKit data to suggest breathing and performance protocols. If Cloud Sync is enabled, synchronized data may also be used to maintain personalized recommendations across your devices. These recommendations support personal wellness and training choices. They do not produce legal or similarly significant effects and are not medical diagnoses or treatment decisions. Aire does not engage in automated individual decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects within the meaning of Article 22 of the General Data Protection Regulation.

6 Retention and deletion

  • Local profile, session, feedback, favorites, daily wellbeing check-ins, planned events and health-context data remain on your device until you delete them using available app controls or remove the app.

  • Firebase account and synchronized data are retained while your account remains active. Disabling Cloud Sync stops new uploads but does not by itself delete data already synchronized. You can delete synchronized cloud data separately in Settings.

  • When you delete your account, Aire initiates deletion of the Firebase Authentication account, associated synchronized Firestore data and notification tokens without undue delay. Google states that relevant Firebase data is removed from live and backup systems as soon as reasonably practicable and within a maximum of 180 days, unless applicable law requires retention.

  • User-level and event-level Firebase Analytics data is retained for 14 months, in accordance with the retention settings configured in Google Analytics for Firebase. Aggregated reports may remain available without directly identifying you.

  • Support correspondence is retained until the request is resolved and thereafter only as long as reasonably necessary for legal claims or legal obligations.

7 Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing completed before withdrawal.

You can manage Health permissions and notifications through Apple settings, manage synchronization and analytics choices in Aire, export available app data, delete local records and request or initiate account deletion. You may also contact contact@hello-aire.com.

You may withdraw Cloud Sync consent at any time in Settings. Withdrawal stops future synchronization and does not affect processing completed before withdrawal. You may separately delete synchronized cloud data. Analytics consent is managed independently from Cloud Sync.

You may lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, where applicable, with a supervisory authority in the European Economic Area member state of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement.

8 Security

AIRE AG applies technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the data and the risks of processing. No electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9 Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, service providers or legal requirements change. The current version will be made available in the app and through the App Store privacy policy link. Material changes will be communicated where required.
